What are Diary Entries?

Diaries are a record of entries which describe what happened over the course of the day or another. A diary is a place where you can be honest with yourself and sound your thoughts about things that happened in life. It is also a place where you can speak with ease, reflect, create and dream. Noting down anything you want with your weirds.

What is a diary entry?

Diary entries is a section within the diary which is organised by date of when it was written. Entries are something within your diary to hold your thoughts, emotion and topics that you have subcategorised in your diary. They can come in different forms, namely written text, pictures, audio and even a mix of different mediums!

Tips for Writing a Diary Entry

1. Date your entries

Diaries are commonly written to be kept for a long period of time so, noting down the dates would help you to find your entries in future.

2. Choose a topic

Having a topic for your entries is just like having a direction or theme for your writing. It can be anything that you wish to discuss.

3. Be sincere

Diaries are something that only you will read, so don’t be afraid and write what you honestly feel.

4. Ask yourself questions

While you are writing the entry, never forget to reflect on the activities and thoughts that are discussed. Asking yourself questions will also help to understand the situation.

5. Add audio and visual attachments

Don’t limit yourself only to write your diaries in text! You can also add in audio or visual attachments into the entries to better express yourself or if there is a song that has been on your playlist playing in repeat.

6. Make it a habit

The more frequent you write entries in your diary, the more you will enjoy and learn from them. Plan for a time of the day that you want to write in your diaries and try to stick to it.
